Podcast: interview Melanie Hogan

Artistic Director Lynden Barber chats with Melanie Hogan about her documentary Kanyini.

KanyiniKanyini is a deeply moving story told by an Aboriginal man, Bob Randall, whose people live around the world's greatest monolith. Based on his personal journey and the wisdom he learnt from the old people living in the bush, Bob tells of why Indigenous people are now struggling in a modern world and what needs to be done for them to move forward. What makes the film special is Bob: wise, thoughtful, with a sadness that lacks rancour. A tale of Indigenous wisdom clashing against materialist notions of progress, this is not only a story of one man and his people but of the human race.

Director Melanie Hogan and Bob Randall will introduce the film and take questions afterwards. Director and producer of the short film The Water Diary, Jane Campion and Christopher Gil, and the cast, will talk about the film after its screening.
