Sydney Film Festival Board

Welcome from the President

The renewed Board has embarked on a three-year program to revitalise the much-loved institution that is the Sydney Film Festival. We want the Festival to have a more dynamic cultural presence in this great city, whilst building stronger international participation and profile. That vision and passion has been generously supported by our new Principal Sponsor Hunter Hall, Australia's largest ethical investment manager - joining our other dedicated sponsors. In 2006, the NSW Government has provided increased support through our key partner the NSW Film and Television Office. We thank the Premier, Minister Debus and the Ministry for the Arts for their active interest and ongoing commitment. I congratulate Lynden Barber on his second program that delivers broad appeal to film-lovers - whether enthusiastic or occasional. I would like to welcome our new CEO Tony Grierson and acknowledge the work of all the team at the SFF - our staff (past and present), our dedicated projectionists, our interns, volunteers and the growing number of people who are your SFF. In short, be prepared to experience the great richness of cinema and participate in making the Festival the vibrant cornerstone of film in Sydney. It is for you.
